Section 30
Provisions relating to visa facilities

(1) Non-tourist visas of up to six months will be given to foreign nationals coming to study, research or survey for foreign investment.
(2) A foreign investor or one of his official representatives and a family member of such investor or representative shall be granted a commercial visa to stay in Nepal as long as the foreign investment equal to the minimum amount as specified is maintained. Explanation: For the purposes of this clause, "member of the family" means the spouse, parents and minor children of the foreign investor or his official representative.
(3) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (2), in the case of an investor who invests more than the specified amount, such facility shall be provided to a maximum of two persons and only to his family members.
(4) A foreign investor or his official representative who invests more than one million US dollars or its equivalent in convertible foreign currency at one time and the family members of such a person will be given a residence visa for as long as the foreign investment is equal to the minimum amount as specified.
(5) According to section 27, non-tourist visas will be given to foreign experts, technicians or managerial staff coming to work in the industry.
(6) For non-tourist visas, the agency that grants work consent and work permit must complete the necessary procedures within fifteen days and make a decision regarding whether or not to grant work consent and work permit.
(7) Other arrangements related to visa facilities shall be as prescribed.
